Lovelies, today I am back on The Alison Show with another installment of Sweet Reads, where we pair baked goods and good books! Check out which book goes with this absolutely phenomenal Apple Cider Donut Bread Pudding.
You may have thought that apple cider donuts couldn’t get better but you were wrong. So very wrong. Because when you bake a dozen and a half of these bad boys in a gorgeously spiced custard then smother the whole thing in warm cider sauce and salted caramel you will suddenly understand the meaning of life.
My ten-year-old taste tester put it this way: “I didn’t know fall had a flavor but this, this is totally it!” Amen, to that. I had so much fun making another food video. Also, scroll down to snag a free printable inspired by the book I shared on Sweet Reads!

Here’s a random-but-semi-applicable fact that you probably don’t know about me: I used to be a college radio DJ. This was back in my grad school days, when I had nothing better to do on Friday mornings from 6-8. Oh, to be young again. Anyway, I bring this up because I thought it would be funny to share my first (and only) in studio interview I did with Caroline Smith and the Goodnight Sleeps, an amazing band out of Minneapolis.
I listened to this interview for the first time a few days ago and–while the band was awesome–I cringed with my over the top usage of the word “awesome” and my awkward giggles. You can listen to it on KRUI’s blog in all its glory. Don’t judge.
The point of this walk down memory line is that I love their song “Closing the Doors” so much that I had to put it in this food video. It is So Good. Also, Caroline Smith has a new album coming out, Half About Being A Woman, which is sure to be awesome.
